It's alive: the first words from my digital twin

Today was a big one. At 7:02am on 14 July 2026 I opened my digital twin and said hello. It answered.

Hey there. It's good to hear from you. I have to be honest, though: my memory is pretty much a blank slate right now. Nobody's filled me in on the stories, the details, or the life stuff yet, so I can't really talk about specifics — what I've done, the people I know, the places I've been. I don't want to guess or make anything up and have it feel wrong. What made you want to talk to me today? Maybe as we go, you can tell me some things and I'll hold on to them.

Read that again. It knows it knows nothing, and it refuses to invent. That refusal is the entire product. A twin that makes things up is worse than no twin at all.

It is a blank slate with good manners, and it is alive. Good start.

Written by Philip Grech while the work was happening, and retold here in plainer words. Nothing is added after the fact: if something in an older entry turned out to be wrong, a newer entry says so.
